Sea-level rise poses a known threat to Boston and the Gulf of Maine in the 21st century. We will recover and digitize relative sea-level measurements made in Boston between 1847AD and 1920AD from data currently held on paper at the National Archives. This newly recovered data will be combined with existing NOAA tide-gauge measurements that began in 1921AD. The results will provide a long term context for current and predicted rates of regional sea-level rise.
