ESRDC – Stochastic Tools based on Polynomial Chaos and its Extensions

In the last few years the MIT Electric Ship development team has developed two end-to-end simulators of AC and MVDC propulsion systems. The models employed in these simulators involve tens of parameters whose values are not always well established and, correspondingly, their relative importance is unknown. We propose to address these two related issues in the next five years and develop a rigorous and comprehensive computational framework to assist the designers of such systems.
