Assessing the distribution, spreading rate, and In-Situ growth of Didemnum vexillum and other invasive species along the Northeast Continental Shelf
Lead Pi: Scott Gallager · 2/2010 - 7/2012
Project Personnel: Amber York, Mary Carman
In this project, the researchers will use optical imaging and image informatics tools to describe the distribution, abundance, and spread rate of Didemnum sp and other invasive tunicates, sponges and bryozoans along the Northeastern continental shelf. The research will improve predictions regarding the potential spread of these invasive species and their impact on biodiversity and commercially important finfish and shellfish.
