MIT Sea Grant and Woods Hole Sea Grant hosted a Blue Economy briefing at the Massachusetts State House on July 11, 2019 to engage with advocates in government on coastal resiliency, sustainable aquaculture and fisheries, workforce development, and education. The briefing was open to the public with over 50 attendees, including our sponsor for the event, Rep. Dylan Fernandes (D-Falmouth), Rep. Jay Livingstone (D-Boston), and Welfleet Shellfish Company, which provided oyster shucking to increase awareness of local Sea Grant partnerships.
We look forward to partnering with the state in the future on job creation, water quality, coastal resiliency, and sustainable fisheries, as well as providing innovative solutions to the many challenges our coastal communities will face with the changing climate.
